Man Arrested in Colorado Springs after Trespassing Incident Turns Violent

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A man has been apprehended by authorities in Colorado Springs following an initial call for trespassing that escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in injury to a police officer.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers promptly responded on Wednesday, December 5th, to a report of an individual trespassing in the 4300 block of Airport Road, situated east of South Academy Boulevard. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials identified the alleged trespasser as Lamont Howard. CSPD reported that Howard exhibited non-compliant behaviour, refusing to cooperate with officers or adhere to their instructions.

In an effort to ensure the safety of all parties involved, CSPD officers endeavored to apprehend Howard. However, he resisted arrest and began kicking one of the officers, resulting in the officer sustaining injuries. The extent of the officer’s injuries has not been disclosed by CSPD at this time.

Following the altercation, Howard was successfully taken into custody by the Colorado Springs Police Department. Further investigations into the incident are currently underway.
