Accident – Death – Obituary News : Former US Soldier Seeks Help After Thai Man Assaults Him in Pattaya

Pattaya, Thailand – A former US soldier was left seeking assistance from locals in Pattaya after being punched in the face by a Thai man. The victim, identified as Demetri, was completely unaware of the motive behind the attack.

The incident occurred on Pattaya Sai Song Road near Soi Pattaya 13, prompting officers from the Mueang Pattaya Police Station and a rescue team to rush to the scene. It was a Thai woman named Nattanan who alerted the authorities about the injured foreign man.

When the officers arrived, they found Demetri with his face and shirt covered in blood. He was using tissue paper to stem the flow of blood from his nose. The rescue team provided him with immediate first aid before transferring him to Mueang Pattaya Hospital, where it was later revealed that he had a broken nose.

Nattanan, who was present at her massage shop in front of Soi Pattaya 13, recounted the situation to the police. She explained that her employees had asked her to check on the foreign man, who sought refuge in their shop after the attack.

According to Nattanan, she witnessed an alarming amount of blood loss from Demetri and immediately reported the matter to the police and rescue team. While waiting for their arrival, she engaged in conversation with the foreigner and learned that he had been assaulted by a Thai man.

Demetri stated that the Thai man unexpectedly punched him in the face and swiftly fled the scene. He expressed confusion as he had never encountered any conflicts with Thais before and was visiting Pattaya for the first time.

Nattanan and her employees claimed they did not see anyone suspicious in the vicinity. Unfortunately, they did not inquire about the exact location of the incident from Demetri.

To aid in the investigation, the Mueang Pattaya Police Station will review the security camera footage along the road to determine the location of the attack and identify the assailant.

This incident echoes a similar one that took place in Pattaya on November 9, where a 23-year-old Russian woman was punched in the face by two Thai men. The assailants then snatched her mobile phone and fled the scene on a motorcycle. Although a Thai security guard assisted in reporting the theft to the police, no public updates regarding the arrest of the culprits have been made available.

As Pattaya grapples with these unprovoked attacks on foreigners, it remains crucial for authorities to enhance security measures and ensure the safety of residents and visitors alike.
