Accident – Death – Obituary News : Two Suspects Arrested After Violent Confrontation During Retail Theft in South Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA – Two suspects have been arrested following a violent confrontation during a retail theft in South Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Police Department has identified the suspects as Jahana Boyce, 25, and Andrew Ramirez, 27.

The incident occurred on August 31, when Boyce and Ramirez entered a shop on the 8600 block of Avalon Boulevard at approximately 3:30 p.m. Inside the store, the duo began grabbing a variety of high-priced items before heading towards the exit. An employee attempted to stop them from leaving, but Boyce allegedly punched the worker in the face, knocking him to the floor, according to the police.

The suspects managed to walk out of the store with the stolen merchandise and fled the area. Unfortunately, the altercation left the employee with severe injuries that required surgery.

After an investigation conducted by the LAPD’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force, Boyce and Ramirez were found to be responsible for at least four other retail thefts across Los Angeles.

It was discovered that the suspects had been previously arrested on August 16 for a retail theft in East L.A., where plainclothes officers were present. Both suspects were charged with three counts of robbery, grand theft, and conspiracy.

On October 11, Ramirez was arrested during a routine traffic stop, during which a firearm was found in his car. He was subsequently charged with possessing a concealed firearm in a vehicle and is currently being held on $190,000 bail.

On October 13, Boyce was also arrested during a traffic stop, where two firearms were found in his vehicle. He was charged with possessing a loaded firearm and is being held on $240,000 bail.

On December 5, Ramirez pleaded guilty to one count of robbery and was sentenced to five years in prison. Boyce, on the other hand, pleaded guilty to one count of robbery with a great bodily injury enhancement and received a sentence of 10 years in prison.

The specific store that was targeted and the value of the stolen items have not been disclosed as the investigation is ongoing.
