Montgomery Police Charge Suspect in September Homicide Case

Montgomery police have announced the arrest and charging of a suspect in connection with a homicide case that occurred in September. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Darren Price from Montgomery, is facing multiple charges including murder, two counts of first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and first-degree arson.

The victim, 39-year-old Jacqueline Best, was found dead on September 24 in the 3500 block of Fairground Road. Authorities were alerted to the incident when a fire broke out at the residence, and upon arrival, they discovered Best’s lifeless body.

A subsequent autopsy revealed that Best had died as a result of a gunshot wound, leading investigators to treat the case as a homicide. Through their diligent efforts, the Montgomery police were able to identify Darren Price as the prime suspect in the murder investigation.

Additionally, Price has also been linked to two separate robbery incidents that occurred on December 3rd and December 6th. These findings have further strengthened the case against him, highlighting his alleged involvement in a series of criminal activities.

Darren Price is currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Facility. The arrest and charging of the suspect bring a sense of closure to the community and offer some solace to the family and friends of Jacqueline Best.
