According to his obituary, Ricardo was not only passionate about cars but also loved football. He and a friend made an 80-mile drive down to West Baltimore to check out a 2006 Acura TL listed on the popular online marketplace. Little did they know that this decision would ultimately cost Ricardo his life.

According to court papers filed by the Baltimore Police, Ricardo and his friend had arranged to meet with two men, one of whom has been identified as 18-year-old Marques Harris, in the 2800 block of Harlem Avenue. The purpose of the meeting was to inspect the advertised Acura. However, after looking over the car, Ricardo and his friend decided not to make the purchase.

As they drove away from the scene, gunfire suddenly erupted behind them, as detailed in court records. Tragically, Ricardo, who was behind the wheel, was shot in the head. In a desperate attempt to find help, his friend took over driving but eventually crashed in the 2000 block of Winchester Street. Police later discovered 19 casings from two different guns in the 2700 block of Harlem Avenue.

Ricardo was rushed to Shock Trauma for treatment but succumbed to his injuries on November 30, according to the police report.

During the investigation, Ricardo’s friend provided crucial information about one of the individuals involved in the shooting – Marques Harris. Police subsequently served a search warrant at Harris’ mother’s residence, where they discovered a Glock 9mm handgun along with other items. In an interview with detectives, Harris admitted to meeting Ricardo and his friend about the car. He claimed that after the potential buyers decided against the purchase, he and his brother left the area and heard the gunshots from a distance.

Harris has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and several other gun-related charges. As he is under 21 years old, he is prohibited from legally possessing a handgun. No attorney is listed for Harris in online court records.

The tragic incident has left the Lancaster community devastated. Ricardo’s friends and family are mourning the loss of a vibrant young man who had a bright future ahead of him. As the investigation continues, the Baltimore Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in bringing justice to Carlos Carrazana Ricardo and his grieving loved ones.
