Bhopal: A man in Madhya Pradesh met a gruesome death on Tuesday when he was pushed out of a car by his intoxicated companions. Tragically, he became entangled in the seatbelt and was dragged for approximately 25 kilometres on the Bhopal-Gwalior highway in Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh, according to local authorities.

The victim, identified as Sandeep Naqwal, was speaking to his wife over the phone when he was forcibly ejected from the vehicle. Unfortunately, his mobile phone fell inside the car, leaving his helpless wife to hear his cries as the perpetrators accelerated the car.

Despite the victim’s screams, the occupants of the vehicle claimed they were unable to hear him due to the high wind speed and engine noise. As a result, they remained oblivious to the fact that Sandeep’s lifeless body was being dragged alongside the car. It was only when several passersby on the highway noticed a bloodied figure being pulled along the left side of the sedan that the police were alerted. The vehicle was subsequently pursued and intercepted at a toll plaza, as reported by The Times of India.

By the time the car came to a stop, Sandeep’s body had suffered severe mutilation, with flesh torn off and his skull crushed. The exterior of the car was stained with blood. The two individuals in the car, identified as Sandeep’s 53-year-old cousin, Sanjeev Naqwal, and his friend Rajesh Chadhar (38), were apprehended by the police. During questioning, they claimed to have been unaware of Sandeep’s presence outside the vehicle.

Altercation leads to fatal incident

The trio had been returning to Awadhpuri in Gwalior after attending a funeral in Ajmer. Opting for the route through Bhopal, which was around 60 kilometers longer, they stopped for dinner in Sehore before resuming their journey. It was during this time that an argument erupted between Sandeep and his cousin, escalating to the point where Sandeep was forcibly expelled from the car while the other two sped away.

Unbeknownst to Sanjeev and Rajesh, Sandeep had managed to remain attached to the car due to his seatbelt. Oblivious to his presence, they closed the car door and continued driving, tragically resulting in Sandeep’s untimely demise.

According to eyewitnesses, the first PCR call was received by the police at 9:50 am on Tuesday. The car was estimated to be traveling at a speed of approximately 100 kilometers per hour. The condition of the victim’s body was so severe that it was unrecognizable, presenting a challenge even for the police officers at the scene. Despite efforts by motorists who alerted Sanjeev and the driver, their intoxicated state prevented them from acknowledging the situation, police sources revealed.
