The unfortunate incident took place in the village of Cheruvu Madaram, located in the Nelakondapalli mandal of Khammam district. Officials confirmed that the collapse occurred due to the persistent rainfall that had plagued the region since Tuesday. The victims were identified as Pullaiah (45) and Lakhsmi (38).

In another unfortunate incident, heavy rain claimed the lives of forty sheep in Bhimavaram village, located in the Aswapuram mandal of the same district. The continuous rainfall has also resulted in extensive crop damage in the undivided Khammam and Warangal districts. The affected areas include Khammam, Wyra, Aswaraopet, Yellandu, Pinapaka, and Palair constituencies, where widespread destruction of crops has been reported. Distressed farmers are now urging the government to provide them with compensation to alleviate their losses.

Furthermore, the torrential rain has caused disruptions in coal production at two open cast mines owned by the state-run Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
