Hyderabad: Tragedy struck in Telangana’s Khammam district on Wednesday as a couple lost their lives in a devastating wall collapse caused by incessant rain. Officials confirmed that the collapse occurred due to the persistent rainfall that had plagued the region since Tuesday. The victims were identified as Pullaiah (45) and Lakhsmi (38).
In another unfortunate incident, heavy rain claimed the lives of forty sheep in Bhimavaram village, located in the Aswapuram mandal of the same district. According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, the regions of Maddukuru and Aswaraopet located in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district experienced rainfall exceeding 30 centimeters in a 24-hour period until 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Additionally, five other locations in the same district recorded rainfall of more than 21 centimeters.
