Accident – Death – Obituary News : Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the chief of the Hindu right-wing group Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena (SRRKS), was brutally murdered in his own home in Jaipur. The shocking incident has sparked widespread protests and unrest across Rajasthan, with the state’s director general of police, Umesh Mishra, announcing the formation of a special investigation team (SIT) to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The SIT will be led by additional DGP (crime) Dinesh MN, who has already identified the two armed men responsible for the murder. CCTV footage from Gogamedi’s house captured the horrifying moment when the two assailants shot him multiple times in the drawing room. The police have identified the attackers as Rohit Rathore Makrana from Jaipur and Nitin Fauji from Haryana. It has been revealed that they used the help of Naveen Singh Shekhawat, a neighbor of Gogamedi, to gain access to the premises. Tragically, the assailants also killed Naveen Shekhawat and injured a security guard, Ajit Singh, during their escape.

Gogamedi’s family has accused the Rajasthan police of failing to provide adequate security to the community leader despite receiving threats. This has further fueled the protests taking place in various parts of the state. As a result, markets in Jaipur, Udaipur, Bundi, Ajmer, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, and other districts remained closed due to a bandh call by SRRKS.

In response to the escalating situation, Governor Kalraj Mishra has summoned top administrative and police officers to Raj Bhavan for a special review of the state’s law and order situation. He emphasized the seriousness of the murder and directed authorities to closely monitor the situation, arrest the criminals, and take effective steps to maintain law and order.

The shocking nature of Gogamedi’s murder has raised questions about the efficacy of the police force in preventing such incidents. It has been revealed that Gogamedi had previously reported threats to the police, indicating that he was aware of the danger he was facing. Additionally, the Punjab Police had shared intelligence with their Rajasthan counterparts about potential threats to Gogamedi’s life.

Amid the growing unrest, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rajendra Rathore has called for the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to take over the investigation. Rathore criticized the local police for failing to prevent the execution of the crime despite alerts from the state ATS and the Punjab DGP. He plans to write to Home Minister Amit Shah, urging him to order an NIA probe into the matter.

The formation of the SIT and the subsequent manhunt for the assailants will be closely watched by the public, who are demanding swift justice for the slain leader.
