Left-wing activist Shepelev tricked by Russian security services, found in detention center on unspecified charges

The human rights organization also revealed that Shepelev is believed to be associated with Artpodgotovka, a left-wing ultranationalist opposition group led by exiled video blogger Vyacheslav Maltsev. Artpodgotovka was banned as an extremist organization by Russian authorities in 2017, following Maltsev’s anti-government rally on the centenary of the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution.
