Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in Huntingdon Borough: Authorities Seek Public’s Help in Finding Suspect Vehicle

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Huntingdon Borough Police are seeking the public’s help in locating the suspect vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident that took place on Sunday morning. The accident occurred around 2:48 a.m. on the 1600 block of Penn Street, where a legally parked 2009 Pontiac was struck by an unidentified vehicle.

Authorities discovered a headlight cover at the scene, believed to belong to the suspect vehicle, which they suspect to be a full-size truck. To aid in their investigation, Huntingdon Borough Police are urging anyone with information about the accident to contact them at (814) 643-3960.

In a separate incident, Pennsylvania State Police at Bedford responded to a welfare check on a person found unconscious in a 2009 Pontiac G5 in Duiliberty Township, Bedford County. The incident took place at approximately 3:13 a.m. on December 2nd, near the intersection of Raystown Road and Brumbaugh Cemetery Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, police detected a strong smell of alcohol emanating from the vehicle and observed an open container of Coors Light in the cup holder. The driver, a 33-year-old male from Martinsburg, exhibited signs of intoxication and refused to undergo a field sobriety test. He was then transported to Nason Hospital, where he further declined to submit to a blood draw.

These incidents highlight the importance of responsible driving and prompt action in hit-and-run cases. Authorities rely on the assistance of the public to identify and locate individuals involved in such incidents, emphasizing the need for community involvement in maintaining road safety.
