35-Year-Old Man in Custody Following Short Pursuit: Dan Hedin Ropp Arrested for Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Evading Arrest, and More

The Logan Police Department received a request for assistance from Weber County dispatch in locating a stolen vehicle that originated from their jurisdiction. Armed with the license plate number and a description of the stolen vehicle, Logan police quickly sprang into action.

Leveraging advanced technology, the stolen vehicle was traced to the vicinity of 1800 S. 1300 West in Logan. To further complicate matters, the authorities were also informed that there was a weapon inside the vehicle. A short time later, officers spotted the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, the driver of the stolen vehicle refused to comply and instead led the police on a short chase. Undeterred, the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Recognizing the need to swiftly apprehend the suspect, Logan police swiftly established a perimeter. From their vantage point, the officers could observe the suspect in the field. Despite their best efforts to persuade the suspect to surrender, their attempts proved futile. Further investigation of the scene led to the discovery of a firearm and illegal drugs in close proximity to the abandoned vehicle. The suspect has been identified as Dan Hedin Ropp and has been subsequently booked into the Cache County Jail. Ropp is facing multiple charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, evading and resisting arrest, and possession of a stolen firearm.
