According to official sources, the incident came to the attention of the police at midnight on December 3. Swiftly responding to the distressing report, the police intercepted the car near the Doraha toll point. Shockingly, the lifeless body of Sandeep was found entangled and extensively injured as a result of being dragged by the car.

The authorities immediately took two individuals, Sandeep Naqwal and the driver Rajesh Chirad, into custody for questioning. Preliminary investigations revealed that the trio had been returning to Bhopal from Rajasthan after attending an event. It was during a heated argument following a dinner at a local Dhaba that Sandeep was allegedly asked to take a bus. The detained individuals claim to be unaware of Sandeep being dragged by the car, emphasizing that it was an unfortunate and unintended consequence of their disagreement.

Superintendent of Police, Mayank Awasthi, stated, “A case of murder has been registered, and two individuals have been arrested and are currently under interrogation. Their statements have presented inconsistencies, and our team is diligently verifying the information provided.” Shyampur Traffic Inspector RN Malviya confirmed that the victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Sub Inspector RB Rathore, responsible for investigating the case, expressed the team’s efforts in locating potential eyewitnesses and CCTV footage that could corroborate the statements provided by the accused individuals.
