Tragedy Strikes as Idaho Manhunt Ends: Jeremy Albert Best Arrested for the Homicide of Wife Kali Jean Randall and Death of 10-Month-Old Son Zeke Best

Authorities received a call from individuals who were hunting on Kepps Crossing Road, east of Idaho Falls. They had discovered a man in a sleeping bag on the side of the road. The man was identified as Jeremy Albert Best, a 45-year-old who was wanted by the Teton County Sheriff’s Office for the homicide that occurred on November 30. Best’s wife, Kali Jean Randall, 38, lost her life in that incident.

Best was immediately placed in a patrol car after being apprehended. Officers then found his vehicle in a nearby embankment off the roadway. Sadly, they also discovered the lifeless body of his 10-month-old son, Zeke Best, in the vehicle.

Once Best was cleared medically, he was taken into custody and transported to the Bonneville County Jail. He will remain incarcerated until his arraignment while officers continue their investigation.

The manhunt began after the Teton County Sheriff’s Office received a distress call from a residence in Victor, Idaho, on Thursday night. When deputies arrived at Randall’s home, they found her unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead. Authorities believe that Best killed his wife and then fled with their son in a Black 1995 Chevy Tahoe.

Earlier on the same day, Best was witnessed walking naked through a local general store. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office had also reported that Best had been detained by the police for the same incident. He was evaluated by emergency medical services and taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for further assessment due to medical and mental health concerns.
