A local resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, highlighted the escalating criminal activities during the night hours in Nyama Villa, leaving residents on edge. Additionally, the river bank in Soweto has witnessed an alarming surge in crime rates, exacerbating the overall security situation in Kayole.

Mihango Stage and Kayole Matopeni have equally been identified as areas where locals need to exercise extra vigilance due to the escalating mugging incidents. The residents are calling upon the authorities to prioritize their plea, especially during the festive season, when people yearn to celebrate with loved ones without the constant fear of falling victim to such crimes.

“We hope that by addressing these issues head-on ahead of the festivities, mugging incidents can be prevented or significantly reduced,” expressed a local businessman, emphasizing the urgency for immediate action.
