Accident – Death – Obituary News : A major collision occurred in the town of Ontario, resulting in the apprehension of a Rochester resident on various charges, including driving under the influence and possession of a stolen vehicle.
On Tuesday at 4:14 p.m., State Police from Williamson swiftly responded to the incident, which took place at the intersection of Route 104 and Cortland Drive. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Michael P. Romell, was found operating a vehicle that had been reported stolen from the City of Rochester.

The complexity of the case was heightened when it was discovered that Romell was driving without a valid license. His license had previously been revoked due to multiple alcohol-related violations, further exacerbating the severity of the situation.
Following the accident, Romell was immediately transported to the hospital due to his admission of being intoxicated. In order to determine the extent and type of drug intoxication, a blood test was conducted.
After receiving medical evaluation and treatment, Romell was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of stolen property, felony unlicensed operation, and driving while ability impaired by drugs (DWAI drugs).
Once medically cleared, Romell was transferred to the Wayne County Jail, where he is being held as a Predicate Felon. This designation indicates that he has previously been convicted of a felony offense.
