Accident – Death – Obituary News : Four individuals, including two children, tragically lost their lives in a horrifying mass stabbing incident that took place in an apartment in New York City on Sunday morning. The victims, identified as an 11-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman, and a man in his 30s, are believed to be members of the same family.

Additionally, a 61-year-old woman sustained critical injuries during the attack, while two police officers were also stabbed while responding to an emergency call from the residence located in Far Rockaway, Queens. The officers had rushed to the scene after a woman reported that her cousin was systematically killing family members using a steak knife.

Upon arrival, law enforcement encountered the suspect, a 38-year-old man named Courtney Gordon, attempting to leave the premises with luggage in hand. In a shocking turn of events, Gordon brandished a knife and proceeded to slash one officer in the neck and chest, while the other officer suffered a head injury. Thankfully, both officers survived the assault and were transported to a hospital. Their injuries, although serious, were not life-threatening.

In order to further complicate matters, the suspect had set a couch on fire, hindering the police from immediately entering the apartment. Once inside, authorities discovered three of the victims, while the body of the young girl was found outside the property.

Courtney Gordon, a resident of Bronx, had a previous history of domestic violence-related arrests. However, his motive for the attack remains unclear. The situation was described as chaotic by Patrick Henry, the president of the New York City Police Benevolent Association, who stated, “This scene was chaos, multiple victims, a home on fire, and a madman on a rampage, on a mission.”

Chief Jeffrey Maddrey of the New York City Police Department commended the actions of the officers involved, highlighting their decision to engage with the suspect rather than allowing him to pass by unnoticed. He stated, “They could have easily let this person walk past them with his luggage. Instead, they stopped, asked a couple of questions, tried to get some intel before they walked right up in there. Unfortunately, they were met with the perpetrator in this incident. He went right at them.”
