Man Identified as Courtney Gordon Kills Four Family Members, Including Two Children, in New York City Home

Accident – Death – Obituary News : NEW YORK CITY — A horrifying incident unfolded in Queens, New York City, on Sunday morning, as a man identified as Courtney Gordon, a 38-year-old Bronx resident, went on a deadly rampage, killing four family members, including two children, before being shot dead by police. The suspect had been visiting his family in the Far Rockaway neighborhood when the tragic events took place.

According to officials, the victims included a 12-year old boy, a 44-year old woman, and a male in his 30s, all of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. An 11-year old girl was found in front of the house and was rushed to the hospital, but sadly succumbed to her injuries later. Police believe that all the victims died from stab wounds, although their identities have not yet been released.

The incident took a violent turn when two police officers responded to a distress call from a young woman who reported her cousin was killing her family. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers confronted Gordon, who was carrying a luggage bag. However, instead of cooperating, he drew a knife and attacked the officers. In response, one of the officers shot him dead, bringing an end to the rampage.

The injured officers, one stabbed in the neck and chest area, and the other slashed in the head, are expected to recover from their injuries. Another woman, aged 61, was also injured in the attack and is currently in critical condition due to multiple stab wounds.

The situation became even more challenging for law enforcement when additional officers arrived at the scene, only to find themselves unable to enter the house due to a fire that had engulfed the living room and foyer area. It is believed that Gordon had set the fire after carrying out the deadly rampage. Fire officials managed to extinguish the flames, but tragically discovered three of the victims deceased inside the residence.

Describing the scene, Patrick Hendry, the head of the New York Police Department’s police union, expressed his shock and admiration for the responding officer’s bravery: “This scene was chaos. Multiple victims, a house on fire, and a mad man on a rampage, on a mission. The skill that this police officer had shooting and stopping the threat after being stabbed. Unbelievable skill.”
