The child’s father, Jeremy Albert Best, who is also a suspect in the murder of the baby’s mother, was apprehended nearby, reportedly naked and making peculiar statements, according to authorities on Saturday.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office revealed that a group of hunters alerted them after spotting a man in a sleeping bag on the side of the road. Deputies rushed to the scene and found Zeke down an embankment off a roadway east of Idaho Falls. The naked individual was identified as Jeremy Albert Best, a 48-year-old man who was wanted in connection with the killing of his 38-year-old wife, Kali Jean Randall, on Thursday night.

The horrifying incident unfolded when deputies were dispatched to a residence in Victor, Idaho, after a 911 dispatcher overheard a disturbance during a call from the property. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of Kali Jean Randall. Jeremy Albert Best had fled the scene with their infant son, prompting the issuance of an Amber Alert in Idaho and Wyoming for the missing child.

Authorities were particularly concerned as they issued the Amber Alert, cautioning the public that Best was believed to be heavily armed. Additionally, they provided a description of the vehicle he was driving, a black 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe with Idaho plates.

Shockingly, this was not the first instance of bizarre behavior exhibited by Jeremy Albert Best. A day before the alleged murder and abduction, deputies were summoned to the Swan Valley General Store in Bonneville County, where Best was observed walking around the store completely naked.

Following his apprehension, Best was initially taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for evaluation. However, the exact details of his time at the hospital remain unclear. Reports from the East Idaho News suggest that he was discharged on Thursday afternoon.

Authorities also discovered Best’s Chevy SUV down the embankment, near the location where Zeke’s body was found. As of now, authorities have not disclosed the cause of the infant’s death.

After being treated at the scene, Jeremy Albert Best was booked into the Bonneville County Jail, where he will remain until his arraignment.
