Accident – Death – Obituary News : Tragedy Strikes as Local Government Worker Slumps and Dies in Ondo State Office

Ondo state – A shocking incident occurred in Bolorunduro, Ondo East Local Government Area of Ondo State when a local government worker, identified as Mathew, slumped and died in his office. The unfortunate incident took place during a discussion with his colleagues, and despite efforts to revive him, Mathew could not be saved.

According to reports, Mathew had gone to have his breakfast in his vehicle parked inside the local government area before the tragic incident occurred. His colleagues revealed that he returned to the office and suddenly slumped while engaged in a discussion with others on Friday, December 1.

The sudden death of Mathew has left his co-workers in shock as he showed no signs of illness prior to the incident. He was immediately rushed to the hospital at Bolorunduro, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. The cause of his death remains unknown, and the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, stated that an investigation is underway to determine the true cause.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue, and arrangements for his burial are being made by his immediate family. The tragic event has left colleagues and family members devastated, as they try to comprehend the sudden loss.

This unfortunate incident comes on the heels of another tragic incident involving a medical doctor. Dr. Umoh Michael, a house officer working in the Neurosurgery Unit of the Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LUTH), reportedly slumped and died in church after allegedly working for 72 hours straight. The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), LUTH chapter, has written a letter to the Chief Medical Director, seeking an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Dr. Michael’s death.

In a separate incident, a teacher from Olokinne High School, Ojowo, Ijebu Igbo in the Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun state, Mrs. Oluwatosin Aina, also slumped and died. The teacher, who was in her 50s, had sought permission to go to the hospital after feeling unwell. Unfortunately, she passed away shortly after being rushed to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Ijebu Igbo.

These tragic incidents serve as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of prioritizing health and well-being. The loss of Mathew, Dr. Michael, and Mrs. Aina has left their respective communities mourning the untimely deaths of these individuals.

As investigations continue into the cause of Mathew’s death, the Ondo State government must ensure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. It is crucial to prioritize the health and safety of workers to avoid any more tragic losses in the workplace..
