Accident – Death – Obituary News : SAN DIEGO — Law enforcement officials have made six arrests in connection with two separate drug cases, seizing a significant amount of narcotics over the past three days. The investigations resulted in the confiscation of 60,000 counterfeit fentanyl pills, 5,000 ecstasy pills, nearly 9 pounds of cocaine, and five pounds of methamphetamine, according to Lt. Adam Sharki of the San Diego Police Department.

The first investigation began in October and concluded on Thursday with the arrests of Edith Gonzalez-Ramirez and Edwin Valles. Both suspects are now facing charges related to narcotics trafficking, Sharki said.

In the second investigation, authorities received reports of illegal dispensaries operating near schools and residential areas. These establishments were found to be selling dangerous synthetic substances known as Delta-8 THC and Delta-10 THC. These substances have been linked to hospitalizations and deaths, prompting law enforcement to take action.

Multiple law enforcement agencies executed search warrants on November 28 and November 29 at six locations throughout San Diego County. The targeted locations included Canably in the Middletown neighborhood, Elevated Smoke Shop in Pacific Beach, and BestBudz smoke shop in Spring Valley.

At Canably, investigators discovered evidence of selling and distributing cannabis and cannabis products within 1,000 feet of a school and residential areas. The owners of Canably were also suspected of operating a similar business from their own home on Bamburgh Drive. Authorities seized 300 pounds of loose cannabis, 5,400 edibles, 13,900 concentrates, and cash from the residence. Notably, three young children were living in the household. Jose Delahoz and Valeria Rada were arrested on charges of child endangerment and drug-related offenses.

At Elevated Smoke Shop in Pacific Beach, law enforcement found a loaded ghost gun, 331 loose cannabis pre-rolls, and 426 concentrates. The shop was operating within 1,000 feet of Pacific Beach Middle School. Investigators also searched the owner’s residence on 14th Street in East Village and discovered additional evidence, including an unregistered handgun.

BestBudz smoke shop in Spring Valley was found to possess 500 pounds of cannabis products. Pedro Delahoz and Diego Delahoz were arrested on suspicion of drug offenses related to the investigation after Chula Vista police served a search warrant in the 700 block of Camino Francisco.

Lt. Sharki emphasized that the sale of cannabis and cannabis-derived products in California is only permitted when in compliance with specific regulatory and licensing requirements. He also stated that selling cannabis to minors, dealing with illegal synthetics, and possessing firearms are all criminal acts under state law.
