ValleyCentral has managed to obtain a criminal complaint that reveals new details about the crash.

In the early hours of November 18, a Pharr Police Department investigator was called to the 700 block of W. Nolana Loop after reports of a major vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the officer observed a severely damaged black and blue Chevy Malibu in the inside westbound lane, facing westbound. The front left quarter of the vehicle had sustained significant damage.

Adjacent to the Malibu, the officer also noticed a red Ford Expedition in the middle lane, facing north.

When inspecting the Malibu, the officer discovered two individuals in the backseat, with one of them requiring surgery for a shoulder injury. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Yozmara Garcia. During a search of Garcia’s purse for identification, the officer unexpectedly stumbled upon a black handgun.

Tragically, it was also noticed that Solis, who was seated in the front driver seat, had no pulse, and the Pharr EMS team was unable to revive him.

Firefighters were then called to the scene to extract Garcia from the driver’s side of the vehicle and transport her to the hospital on a gurney. At the hospital, an officer approached Garcia and detected a strong smell of alcohol emanating from her breath and person, according to the official document.

In further conversations with one of the other passengers, it was revealed that all three individuals had been consuming alcoholic beverages prior to the crash. Additionally, the passenger informed the police that Garcia had been driving recklessly within the apartment complex’s parking lot before accelerating to a dangerously high speed upon exiting the premises.

Presently, Garcia remains in custody, as her bond has been set at $105,000.

It is critically important to remember the devastating consequences that can arise from driving under the influence of alcohol. This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers associated with impaired driving and the need for responsible decision-making to ensure the safety of all road users.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging individuals to exercise caution and refrain from driving while intoxicated. By doing so, we can collectively work towards preventing further accidents and preserving the sanctity of life..
