Man Killed and Son Injured in Brutal Attack in Hangu District

KOHAT, Pakistan –

In a shocking incident that unfolded in the Chamba Gul area of Hangu district, a man lost his life while his son sustained severe injuries after being mercilessly attacked by their rivals. The incident, which took place recently, has sent shockwaves through the local community.

Nasreen Gul, a resident of Lachi tehsil in Kohat, had been living in Hangu due to an old feud with Hayat Khan. Their animosity reached its peak when Hayat, accompanied by his sons, travelled from Lachi to Hangu with the intention of seeking revenge for the murder of a family member.

According to Wali Mohammad, the injured son of the deceased, he and his father were en route to a court hearing on a motorcycle when Hayat, along with Amjidullah, Zahireen, and Sabireen, launched a sudden and fierce attack on them. Gunfire rained down upon them, leaving Nasreen dead on the spot and Wali Mohammad gravely wounded.

Operation Launched to Clear Flea Market in Kohat

In a separate development, a task force has been formed under the directives of Kohat Commissioner Mohammad Abid Khan to address the issue of a flea market located behind Jail Plaza. The operation aims to remove the flea market and allocate the space to handcart owners, while ensuring that the handcarts are rendered immobile to prevent their return to the city. The presence of these handcarts has been causing significant inconvenience to pedestrians and motorists within the bazaars.

Sheharyar Qamar, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, stated that a systematic process will be implemented to verify and allocate specific numbers to the vendors. He further added that the crackdown on illegal bus stands, temporary shops on footpaths, and handcarts is imminent, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the livability of the city.

This incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for improved security measures and resolution of long-standing disputes in the region. As the authorities continue their investigations, the local community remains on edge, hoping for swift justice and lasting peace.
