The three shootings occurred in open areas, with police suspecting that the victims were targeted while they slept. The first murder took place on Sunday, November 26, claiming the life of 37-year-old Jose Vamos. The second tragedy unfolded on Monday, November 27, when 62-year-old Mark Digs fell victim to the unknown assailant. The third and most recent incident occurred on Wednesday, November 29, taking the life of a 52-year-old man whose identity remains undisclosed.

In an effort to apprehend the killer, the LAPD has formed a specialized task force under the Robbery-Homicide division. This task force consists of investigators from multiple branches, pooling their expertise to solve the case. LAPD Chief Michel Moore emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “We’re bringing Homicide investigators from throughout the city. We’re bringing additional investigators from specialized posts and we have placed our forensic science division on ready so that any forensic evidence that is gathered is also quickly processed and analyzed in an effort to identify the person we believe responsible for these three homicides.”

To aid in the investigation, the LAPD has released two photos of the suspect, as well as an image of a vehicle believed to be connected to the murders. This information has been shared widely with the hope that someone may recognize the perpetrator or the vehicle and come forward with crucial information.

Furthermore, the LAPD has reached out to surrounding cities to determine if any similar crimes have been committed. Chief Moore assured the public that there are currently no unsolved homicides outside of Los Angeles, but the investigation continues to explore any potential connections or patterns.
