KILLEEN, Texas — The Killeen Police Department has released the identity of the person involved in a fatal car accident that occurred at the intersection of Trimmier Road and Stagecoach Road. The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Emily Santiago Figueroa.

The incident took place on Friday, December 1, at approximately 7:10 p.m., when the Killeen Police received a distress call regarding a single vehicle crash at the intersection mentioned earlier.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Figueroa, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, suffering from severe injuries. Prompt action was taken by the Killeen EMS, who immediately transported her to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

An investigation into the accident revealed that a white 2021 BMW SUV was traveling southbound on Trimmier Road at an alarmingly high speed. For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle veered off the road, colliding with a concrete retaining wall on the south side of the intersection with Stagecoach Road, according to the officers at the scene.

Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Figueroa tragically succumbed to her injuries. Justice of the Peace Nicola James officially pronounced her dead at 8:52 p.m. on December 2.
