A 23-Year-Old Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges in the Shooting of a 9-Month-Old Girl in Chicago

Chicago police have charged a 23-year-old man, Kenneth Mosby, with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm following the shooting of a 9-month-old girl in the Washington Park neighborhood. The incident occurred on Tuesday and left the baby girl critically injured.

Mosby, a resident of the 8800 block of South Burley Avenue, was apprehended by authorities on Thursday in Maywood, a suburb located in the western part of Chicago. He was taken into custody on First Avenue after being positively identified as the shooter.

According to Chicago Tribune, the shooting took place near a McDonald’s restaurant in the first block of East Garfield Boulevard. The 9-month-old girl was struck by gunfire and immediately rushed to Comer Children’s Hospital, where she is currently listed in critical condition.

The suspect, Mosby, is expected to appear at a detention hearing to determine his legal proceedings and potential bail conditions.
