Tragedy Strikes Indore: 50-Year-Old Woman Found Dead with 100% Burns in Satellite Township

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Indore: A tragic incident occurred in the Satellite township of Lasudia area on Thursday night, as a 50-year-old woman was found dead in a flat with 100% burns. The police are currently investigating whether the death was self-inflicted or accidental.

The deceased, identified as Swati Phadnis, was the wife of Dilip Phadnis. She resided in flat number 404 on the fourth floor of the Raas building. The authorities discovered her body in the flat, along with severe burns. The TV unit and its surrounding area were completely burnt, and a bottle of sanitizer was found nearby.

Lasudia police station in-charge, Taresh Soni, stated, “We are investigating whether it was an accident or suicide. No suicide note was recovered from the spot, but it has come to our attention that the woman was undergoing treatment for depression.”

According to reports, around 5:30 pm, neighbors noticed smoke emanating from Swati’s flat and immediately alerted the authorities. They attempted to gain entry into the flat but were unsuccessful. Consequently, they informed the police and Dilip Phadnis, who promptly rushed to the scene. The fire department was also notified, and a fire tender was dispatched but arrived after the police had already broken into the flat. Tragically, Swati was discovered dead with 100% burns.

“The spot verification conducted by forensic experts revealed that the TV unit and the area surrounding the body were completely burnt, while the rest of the house remained undamaged,” said Soni.

Dilip Phadnis is employed at a pharmaceutical company in Dewas, and the couple has two daughters. At the time of the incident, their younger daughter was attending a coaching class, while their elder daughter works in Udaipur. The police have sent Swati’s body for autopsy and have recorded her death. Additionally, they have seized her mobile phone and other items found at the scene.

Authorities are currently working to establish the cause of the fire and determine whether it was an intentional act or a tragic accident. Further investigations will shed light on the circumstances surrounding Swati’s death.

In recent news, the Times of India reported on several other tragic incidents. In one article, a 36-year-old Israeli woman was found dead at her residence in Kollam, Kerala, with the police suspecting murder. Her 70-year-old live-in partner is the primary suspect. Although he claims that the couple had agreed to commit suicide, the woman had multiple stab wounds in addition to a fatal injury to her neck. The man is now facing charges under IPC sections 302 and 309 and is under police surveillance while hospitalized. A suicide note was discovered at the scene.

Another distressing incident occurred in Tumakuru city, Karnataka, where a couple and their three children died by suicide due to debt and alleged torture by money lenders. The victims, identified as Gareeb Saab, Sumaiyya, Hajira, Mohammad Shabhan, and Mohammad Muneer, were found dead at their home in Sadashivanagar. Saab worked as a Kabab seller to support his family. A suicide note and a self-made video left behind by the deceased detailed the torture they had endured. The police have taken five individuals into custody and are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. Home Minister G Parameshwara expressed his condolences and assured that justice would be served.

In a separate incident in Puliampatty, a woman and her grandson were tragically found dead in a water sump. The cause of their deaths remains unknown. The deceased have been identified as N Subbammal, 82, and her grandson P Naveen Kumar, 30. The bodies were discovered floating in a 15-foot deep sump.

These incidents highlight the urgent need for society to address mental health issues and provide support to individuals in distress. Authorities and communities must work together to prevent such tragedies and ensure the well-being of their citizens..
