Salem: In a devastating road accident near Salem on Thursday, three individuals lost their lives after a truck collided with a pick-up van used for transporting goods. The victims, all passengers in the van, were tragically crushed to death, while the truck driver sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital. The deceased have been identified as M Praveenkumar, 27, from Villupuram, Sudarshan, 40, from Arakkonam, and Prakasam, 52, from Gudiyatham. According to the police, the accident occurred when Pechimuthu was traveling from Nilavarapatti to Chennai, having loaded empty soft drink bottles onto the truck. As the truck approached Kilakukadu, it collided with a van traveling in the opposite direction. The impact of the collision completely damaged the front portion of the van, trapping all three passengers inside the mangled vehicle.
