Mary Cleave was born on February 5, 1947, in Southampton, England. Her passion for astronomy and space developed at a young age, leading her to pursue a higher education in the United States. She completed her undergraduate studies at Utah State University, where she excelled in her field and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences.
