Motorcyclist Killed in San Martin Crash Identified as Los Gatos Resident

A tragic accident near San Martin last week has claimed the life of a 68-year-old Los Gatos resident. The motorcyclist, identified as Ramesh Babu Krishna Sastry, lost his life in a collision with a car at the intersection of Uvas and Watsonville roads on November 22.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash, which occurred at 2:46 p.m. According to a witness, the motorcycle failed to stop at a stop sign before attempting a left turn onto northbound Watsonville Road. It was at this moment that a southbound Toyota Camry collided with the motorcycle, resulting in Sastry and his passenger, a 60-year-old Los Gatos woman, being thrown from the bike.

Tragically, Sastry succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The female passenger suffered severe injuries and was immediately transported to a San Jose hospital for treatment. The sole occupant of the Camry, a 41-year-old Prunedale man, miraculously escaped unscathed, according to the California Highway Patrol.
