Latt, a 33-year-old founder and CEO of the organization Lead With Love, dedicated his life to supporting influential women and artists of color. Jameelah Elena Michl now faces charges of murder and first-degree residential burglary in connection with the incident. According to the prosecution, Michl made her way into Latt’s home on that fateful day, armed with a semi-automatic handgun. The assailant confronted Latt and, in a tragic turn of events, fatally shot him. District Attorney George Gascón expressed deep sorrow over the loss, recognizing Latt as a passionate advocate for justice. Michl’s arraignment is scheduled for December 15, 2023, at Dept. 30 in the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center. The prosecution is recommending a substantial bail of $3,000,000 due to the severity of the charges.
