1st December 2023 – (Hong Kong) A male police officer is currently facing serious allegations of molesting a young girl on three separate occasions more than three years ago while he was off duty at a disciplinary forces quarters. Today, on 1st December, the case was brought before the Kwun Tong Magistrates’ Courts for court mention. The defendant, who has been identified by the pseudonym “U.K.B.”, is 27 years old. Although the Chinese version of the charge sheet mentioned that he holds another occupation, the English version left this field blank. However, reliable sources from law enforcement have confirmed that the accused is a police officer who was off duty at the time of the alleged incidents. Consequently, he has been suspended from duty pending the outcome of the case.

During the court proceedings today, the defence team applied for a four-week adjournment to allow for further examination of relevant video evidence. The prosecution did not object to this request, and the presiding judge granted the adjournment, setting the new court mention for 29th December. In the meantime, the accused will remain on bail.

The charges against the defendant specify that the alleged molestations of the young girl, who has been identified as “X,” took place on undisclosed dates in December 2019, July 2020, and August 2020. These incidents reportedly occurred at a unit within the Sau Mau Ping Disciplined Services Quarters located in Wo Hong Path, Sau Mau Ping, Kowloon. It is worth noting that the accused and the victim are said to be relatives.
