The victim has been identified as Karan Gupta, a resident of Vishnu Garden, while the injured party is Omkar Patle, who hails from Raghuveer Nagar and is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi), Pranav Tayal, the Mandir Marg police station received an urgent call from the police control room on November 26th, reporting an accident on Panchkuian Road.

Responding promptly, a dedicated police team rushed to the scene, where they discovered that the injured victims had already been transported to Lady Hardinge hospital. Tragically, Karan Gupta was pronounced dead by the attending medical professionals, while Omkar Patle was unable to provide a statement due to his ongoing treatment.

Despite the absence of eyewitnesses and Patle’s inability to recount the incident, the resilient police team refused to give up on their investigation. They meticulously scrutinized the footage captured by more than 100 CCTV cameras, strategically positioned around the scene of the crime. This tireless effort eventually led them to identify the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run incident.

During questioning, Hanspal eventually confessed to being behind the wheel of the vehicle at the time of the accident. Consequently, he was placed under arrest, and after following due legal procedures, was later released on bail.

This incident serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of adhering to traffic rules and exercising caution on the roads. The loss of a young life has left the community shocked and grieving, as they come to terms with this devastating hit-and-run incident.
