Wasserman, who had retired but continued to serve as a dayan amit (retired rabbinical judge), was mourned by the offices of Rabbis Yitzhak Yosef and David Lau. They described him as a senior, gifted, and dedicated judge who was tragically “murdered by a vile person.”

Itamar Ben Gvir, Israel’s National Security Minister, visited the scene of the attack and emphasized the need for a firm military response to such acts of terror.
