Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh – In a shocking incident, a nine-year-old visually impaired student residing at the Government Children with Special Needs (CWSN) Hostel in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh was allegedly raped by a security guard. The accused, identified as 56-year-old Omprakash Tiwari, worked as a watchman at the hostel and has been taken into custody following a thorough investigation. The victim’s mother, a laborer based in Delhi, lodged a formal complaint with the police on Tuesday evening after her daughter revealed the horrifying ordeal.

The Child Welfare Committee in Sagar has taken charge of the investigation, ensuring that proper legal action is taken against the accused. She attempted to escape but was forcibly confined by the watchman, who then committed the heinous crime. The traumatized girl and her mother immediately reported the offense to the police, leading to the swift arrest of the accused.

The police have confirmed the registration of the case and acknowledged the assault on a minor girl residing within a disabled hostel. The authorities have assured the public that they are committed to ensuring justice for the victim and that the accused will be held accountable for his actions.

To protect the victim’s privacy and in accordance with the Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault, her identity has not been revealed.
