Mother Rescues 8-Year-Old Daughter from Attempted Molestation by 34-Year-Old Man in Bhopal

The incident occurred late at night on Monday in the Nishatpura area of Bhopal.

The brave and quick-thinking mother immediately reported the incident to the Nishatpura police, who wasted no time in registering a molestation case against the accused, identified as Shyam Krishnan. The police have charged him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Krishnan has been arrested and taken into custody.

According to the victim, a Class 2 student, the incident took place around 11pm on Monday night. She had stepped out of her house to retrieve her footwear, as her socks had gotten wet while she was playing. It was at this moment that Krishnan approached her and lured her with the promise of chocolate and ice cream. When she refused, he forcefully took her to his room on the upper floor and molested her. He even went as far as threatening to kill her if she told anyone about the incident. Shockingly, he then attempted to disrobe her, but before he could carry out his heinous act, the victim’s mother arrived at the scene and bravely rescued her daughter from his clutches.

The incident came to light on Tuesday when the mother reported the matter to the Nishatpura police. The accused, Krishnan, is a 34-year-old man from Kerala who resides on the upper floor of the victim’s building on a rental basis. He works as a cook at a restaurant in the city.

The police have assured the public that they are conducting further investigations into the case. The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy, in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directives on cases related to sexual assault.
