Accident – Death – Obituary News : Updated: Israeli sources reported on Thursday morning that two Palestinians from occupied East Jerusalem opened fire at a bus stop of Israeli settlers, resulting in the deaths of three Israelis and several others wounded. The alleged assailants were shot by Israeli police and paramilitary settlers who were present at the scene, causing the deaths of both Palestinians. While two of the killed Israelis have not yet been identified, Israeli sources have stated that one of the victims is a 24-year-old woman, and the other a 70-year-old man. At least 11 people were injured in the shooting attack at a bus stop near the entrance to Jerusalem, according to Israeli Ynet News.

Elimelech Vaserman, a judge in the Ashdod Rabbinical Court, was officially identified as one of the victims in the shooting attack near Jerusalem, as confirmed by Israeli officials on Thursday. The two slain Palestinians have been identified as Morad Nimir, 38, and Ibrahim Nimir, 30, from Sur Baher town, located south of occupied Jerusalem. Following the incident, dozens of soldiers stormed the homes of the Palestinian siblings, ransacked the properties, and assaulted their families before taking a family member into custody. It is important to note that Morad is a former political prisoner who was previously held by Israel for ten years.

In response to the attack, the Israeli army closed the Qalandia terminal, north of Jerusalem, and imposed strict restrictions on Jaba’ military roadblock, Hizma roadblock, and Al-Ezariya roadblock. Additionally, all roads leading to Sur Baher town were closed off. Jack Lew, the US Ambassador to Israel, promptly condemned the attack, calling it “despicable” and expressing condolences to the victims’ families. However, Lew has yet to condemn the extensive loss of Palestinian lives during the 50-day-long bombardment of Gaza, where Israeli forces reportedly killed 15,000 Palestinians, including 6,000 children, and injured over 36,000 others.

A security camera footage captured the moment of the attack, showing the two Palestinian men attempting to flee the scene. One of them is shot near the door of a car he was apparently trying to enter to escape, while the second man is shot while on his knees with his hands raised in what appears to be a surrendering posture.

The deaths of the three Israelis and two Palestinians occurred on the sixth day of a truce in Gaza, during which daily hostage exchanges have been taking place between Palestinian captives in Gaza and over 5,000 Palestinians held in Israeli detention facilities, many without charges or legal representation for extended periods of time.

In the early hours of Thursday, Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian young man, Fadi Mu’ayyad Badran, 21, and injured four others in Betunia town, west of Ramallah, in the central occupied West Bank. On Wednesday, the army killed four Palestinians, including two children, following a prolonged military attack on the northern occupied West Bank city of Jenin and its refugee camp.
