Accident – Death – Obituary News : Man Fatally Shot on Florida Avenue, NE: MPD Launches Investigation
Washington, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) Homicide Branch is currently investigating a tragic shooting incident that claimed the life of a man on November 25. The incident occurred on the 1300 block of Florida Avenue, NE.

MPD documents reveal that officers responded to a distress call regarding a shooting victim at the aforementioned location. Upon arrival, they discovered a man receiving treatment from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Subsequently, the victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to his injuries.
Further investigations have revealed that the shooting actually took place on the 1700 block of Benning Road, SE, rather than the initially reported spot on Florida Avenue.
The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Daniel Lamont Adams.
In their pursuit of justice, MPD is offering a reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this heinous crime.
