Accident – Death – Obituary News : TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa resident has been handed a ten-year prison sentence after being found guilty of secretly filming and photographing over thirty women in various retail store changing rooms. Daniel Briggs Toy, the culprit behind these invasive acts, was apprehended in 2022 when he was caught recording someone changing in a Target store.

The incident that led to Toy’s arrest occurred in May 2022 at a Target located near 101st and Memorial in Tulsa. Local authorities received a report of a peeping tom incident, prompting police officers to respond swiftly. According to the victim, while she was trying on clothes in a dressing room, she noticed a mobile phone pointed at her from beneath the door.

Realizing she was being recorded without consent, the victim immediately confronted the suspect, later identified as Toy, as he attempted to enter another dressing room. However, Toy overpowered the victim and forcefully closed the door on her, causing her to sustain an injury to her elbow.

During the commotion, other customers in the store became aware of the incident and witnessed Toy frantically deleting photos from his phone. Target security personnel arrived at the scene, but Toy managed to flee before they could apprehend him. Fortunately, his license plate was captured on video surveillance.

In June 2022, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Toy’s residence, leading to the recovery of his phone, computer, and the clothing he wore during the incident at Target. Further investigation uncovered additional evidence of Toy’s peeping tom activities.

One particularly disturbing piece of evidence was the discovery of Toy installing and adjusting a hidden camera in his guest bathroom. The camera captured footage of another victim undressing, and upon reaching out to her, the police confirmed her identity. The victim revealed that she had stayed at Toy’s residence with her husband while visiting Tulsa.

Another victim also came forward, identifying herself in the bathroom footage recovered from Toy’s belongings. The evidence was damning, leaving Toy facing ten counts of voyeurism. However, in September, Toy waived his right to a jury trial.

During the court proceedings, the prosecution presented compelling evidence, leaving no room for doubt regarding Toy’s guilt. Consequently, Toy was sentenced to ten years in prison for his despicable actions.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of personal privacy and the need for vigilance in public spaces. The victims, who were unknowingly subjected to such invasive acts, have undoubtedly experienced emotional distress and violated their trust in public settings. It is crucial for society to condemn and hold individuals accountable for such behavior to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals.

The sentencing of Daniel Briggs Toy is a step towards justice for the victims affected by his actions. It sends a strong message that such violations will not be tolerated and that those who engage in voyeurism will face severe consequences for their reprehensible acts..
