Accident – Death – Obituary News : A man from Quakertown is now in police custody at the county jail following accusations of stealing approximately $300 worth of energy drinks and other merchandise from Redner’s Warehouse Market in Montgomery Township. According to reports, the incident occurred on October 27, when Declan McCarthy, a 26-year-old individual, allegedly entered the store between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., filled a shopping cart with various items, and managed to leave without paying.

The theft was brought to the attention of the authorities when store personnel reported the incident on October 31, prompting police to dispatch officers to the 1200 block of Welsh Road at 2:31 p.m. Upon reviewing the surveillance footage, police were able to positively identify McCarthy as the suspect responsible for the theft. This particular incident marks McCarthy’s fourth retail theft offense, as he has previously been convicted three times for similar offenses in Richland and Hatfield townships, as well as in Tullytown Borough, Bucks County.

Among the stolen items were six packs of Red Bull Energy drinks, four packs of Red Bull Sugar Free drinks, and three packs of Monster Low Carb drinks. The total value of the stolen goods was estimated to be $291.63, according to the criminal complaint filed against McCarthy. The charges were officially filed on November 14, leading to his subsequent arrest on November 21.

Following his arrest, McCarthy was unable to post the required 10% of a $5,000 cash bail, resulting in his transfer to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 5 at 3 p.m., where he will face a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy.
