57-Year-Old Farmer Arrested for Hiring Killer to Murder Son: Victim Identified as Kishor Ushir

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Nashik: A 57-year-old farmer has been arrested by the Wani police on the charge of hiring a killer to murder his 26-year-old son. The accused has been identified as Dagu Ushir, while the victim has been identified as Kishor, alias Tillu Ushir, a resident of Khadakjamb in Chandwad taluka of the district.

The police have also arrested the alleged killer, a 30-year-old man named Sandeep Gaikwad, and have detained a 16-year-old associate of Gaikwad. The arrests were made after the police received information about a body found near the Palkhed dam on November 22. The victim’s identity was ascertained from the documents found in his pockets, and his family was contacted.

A murder complaint was registered against the unidentified person(s) based on a relative’s statement. With the help of technical analysis and informers, the police were able to apprehend Gaikwad and his juvenile associate. They also seized the bike used in the crime, as well as a sharp weapon.

During Gaikwad’s custodial interrogation, he confessed that Dagu had paid him Rs 18,000 to eliminate his son. The motive behind the murder was reportedly the victim’s abusive behavior and threats towards his father under the influence of alcohol. Frustrated with the constant abuse, Dagu allegedly decided to hire someone to kill Kishor.

The investigation into the case is being conducted under the guidance of SP Shahaji Umap and additional SP Aditya Mirkhelkar. While Gaikwad was arrested shortly after the murder, Dagu Ushir was apprehended on Monday.

In other recent news, a 29-year-old resident of Dhabdhaba-Bicholim drowned at the Sarmanas ferry point after his car plunged into the water. The incident is believed to have occurred due to a heart attack suffered by the driver. Fortunately, his passenger was able to save his wife and child. This incident marks the second such case reported in recent years.

In another incident, a five-year-old boy was allegedly molested at a shack in Colva. A photographer who witnessed the incident called the police helpline but also uploaded a video of the incident on social media to bring it to the attention of the authorities. The Victim Assistance Unit lodged a complaint, and an FIR was registered. The accused, Franky Fernandes, was arrested for sexually abusing the minor boy. The video clip was uploaded on Antonio Pacheco’s Instagram account.

Lastly, a 17-year-old boy was robbed and murdered in northeast Delhi’s Welcome area. The victim was allegedly robbed of Rs 350, and a 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the crime. The victim was rushed to GTB Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
