Tragic Stabbing Death of New Jersey Student Rocco Rodden Sends Shockwaves through Community

MONTVALE, New Jersey — A devastating incident unfolded on Thanksgiving morning when a 17-year-old New Jersey student, Rocco Rodden, was fatally stabbed outside a club in New York City. The tragedy has left the tight-knit community of Montvale shattered and mourning the loss of a promising young football player.

Rocco Rodden, a junior at St. Joseph’s Regional High School, was known as a rising star with boundless potential. However, his dreams were abruptly cut short during a confrontation with another teenager, resulting in a fatal stabbing. Expressing his grief, Rocco’s father, Douglas Rodden, stated, “It is heart-wrenching for parents to bury children; it’s completely unacceptable.”

Following the incident, the police swiftly arrested a 19-year-old suspect, identified as Gianluca Bordone from Oyster Bay, New York. The suspect now faces murder charges in connection with Rocco’s tragic death.

Rocco, a talented junior who played on the offensive line for St. Joseph’s Regional High School football team, was a beloved member of the school community. The principal of the school expressed their condolences in a heartfelt statement to the families.
