WEST CHESTER, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Authorities in West Chester, Pennsylvania are currently investigating a disturbing incident in which a woman was sexually assaulted by a scam artist who posed as a contractor. The suspect, who is still at large, targeted unsuspecting victims by going door-to-door, preying on their vulnerability and trust.

According to law enforcement officials, the incident took place on Wednesday, November 22, around 2:36 p.m. The victim reported that three men approached her residence, claiming to be soliciting home repairs. One of the men, who introduced himself as “Jimmy,” engaged the victim in a conversation about various repair projects, including roofs, brickwork, and siding.

To gain the victim’s confidence, the scam artist provided her with a business card containing a fictitious company name and phone number. However, the victim soon discovered the deceitful nature of the man when he forcefully entered her home and sexually assaulted her.

Following the assault, the victim immediately contacted the authorities, who swiftly responded to the distressing incident. In an attempt to apprehend the perpetrator, the police called the phone number on the fake business card and arranged a meeting. Two of the men showed up at the designated location and were promptly taken into custody.

The suspects have been identified as James McDonagh, who claimed to be “Jimmy” during the encounter, and John Delaney. Disturbingly, investigators have determined that neither McDonagh nor Delaney has a fixed residence in the United States. This revelation raises concerns about potential criminal activities they may have been involved in prior to this incident.
