Accident – Death – Obituary News : Wanted Man Arrested Following Firearms Incident in Hedley, RCMP Report

HEDLEY, BC – A wanted man was taken into custody by the RCMP after a firearms incident over the weekend. According to police, the unnamed man was apprehended on Saturday at around 6 p.m. following a report of someone potentially firing a rifle outside a residence in Hedley.

The arrest was made after it was discovered that the man had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. Additionally, he had breached a court order prohibiting him from being at the specific location where the incident occurred.

“The man was identified as having several outstanding warrants for his arrest,” the RCMP stated. “He also breached a court order not to be at the particular location.”

To ensure public safety, the RCMP’s southeast district emergency response team provided assistance and successfully took the man into custody. In light of the situation, officers made the decision to temporarily close Highway 3 due to its close proximity to the incident.

The 30-year-old suspect is currently being held in custody pending a court appearance. He is facing multiple firearm-related charges.

The RCMP has not disclosed any further details regarding the nature of the firearms incident or the identity of the suspect.
