I miss my high school photography class and the darkroom. It was such a unique experience to shoot and develop our own film. The nostalgia of those days still lingers in my mind.

In a world dominated by digital photography, the art of shooting and developing film seems to be fading away. However, the process of shooting on film and developing it in a darkroom carries a certain charm that cannot be replicated by digital technology.

In high school, we were taught the basics of photography and how to use a film camera. We learned about composition, lighting, and exposure, and then we had the opportunity to put our knowledge into practice. Armed with our cameras, we ventured out to capture the world around us, eagerly anticipating the moment when we could see our images come to life.

But it didn’t end there. Our journey continued in the darkroom. This was where the magic happened. We carefully handled the negatives and loaded them onto the enlarger. The red glow of the safelight added to the mystique of the process. We adjusted the focus, exposure, and contrast to bring our images to perfection.

Watching our photographs slowly emerge in the developer tray was a moment of pure joy. The anticipation and excitement were palpable. The darkroom was a sanctuary where we could escape from the outside world and immerse ourselves in the art of photography.
