PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Pennsylvania State Police announced on Tuesday that justice has been served with the sentencing of Jayana Webb, the woman responsible for the tragic crash that claimed the lives of two Pennsylvania state troopers and a pedestrian in 2022.

The accident, which occurred on March 21, 2022, resulted in the deaths of Troopers Martin Mack and Branden Sisca, who were struck and killed by Webb, a resident of Eagleville. In a courtroom proceeding, Webb was sentenced to serve up to 60 years for her actions.

According to investigators, the incident took place on Interstate 95 South near the Stadium Complex in South Philadelphia. Troopers Mack and Sisca were assisting a pedestrian, identified as 28-year-old Reyes Rivera Oliveras, when the collision occurred. Tragically, Oliveras also lost his life in the crash.

It was revealed during the investigation that Webb had a blood alcohol concentration of .211% at the time of the accident, indicating a severe impairment due to alcohol consumption. The District Attorney, Larry Krasner, emphasized that this incident could have been prevented and serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of drinking and driving.

The sentencing of Webb brings some closure to the families of the victims, who have been grieving for their loved ones. However, the pain and loss caused by this tragic event will never fully heal.

In a statement, Webb’s attorney, Michael Walker, expressed her remorse and devastation. He highlighted that she is not a violent criminal and is deeply saddened by the consequences of her actions.

Trooper Martin Mack had proudly served the Pennsylvania State Police since November 2014, dedicating his life to protect and serve the community. Trooper Branden Sisca, on the other hand, had recently joined the force in February 2021, showing great promise and commitment.

The sentencing of Webb serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by impaired driving and the devastating consequences it can have on innocent lives. It is hoped that this case will encourage individuals to think twice before getting behind the wheel while under the influence.

The impact of this tragic event will be felt for years to come, as the families, friends, and colleagues of Troopers Mack and Sisca continue to mourn their loss. The Pennsylvania State Police community stands united in support of the affected families during this difficult time.
