Man Charged with First Degree Murder in Death of British Columbia Woman in Markham

A 34-year-old man has been charged with first degree murder following the discovery of a deceased woman from British Columbia at a residence in Markham, Ontario, according to the York Regional Police.

On Sunday, at approximately 10:47 p.m., law enforcement received a call reporting an incident of unknown nature at a property on Gillingham Avenue, as stated in a news release issued on Tuesday. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found a man with severe injuries and an unconscious woman. The woman, identified as Xu Guo, aged 34 and hailing from British Columbia, was pronounced dead.

The male suspect, also 34 years old and a resident of Markham, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in relation to the tragic death of Xu Guo.

At present, the police have refrained from commenting on the nature of the relationship between the deceased woman and the accused. The cause of death will be ascertained through a post mortem examination.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that there are no other outstanding suspects involved in this case.
