Deadly Crash in the Bronx Under Investigation after Road Rage Incident

    NEW YORK (WLNY) — The police in the Bronx are currently conducting an investigation into a fatal crash involving a car and a moped. The incident took place around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday following a heated dispute between the drivers.

According to witnesses, the scene was chaotic and horrifying. Cesar Garcia, one of the witnesses, described the aftermath, stating, “The guy was on the floor, just a lot of blood, leg broken, and the lady was just on the floor too, crying, just scared and shocked. It was crazy.” Another witness, Ismael Ramon, immediately called 911 and stayed on the line until emergency services arrived.

Eye-witnesses reported that a 28-year-old woman was speeding in a red Honda Civic, deliberately driving the wrong way on Fox Street, when she collided with a 23-year-old man riding a moped near Intervale Avenue in the Longwood area. The impact of the crash was so intense that it caused a loud bang, which could be felt by residents on the third floor of nearby buildings.

The victim, identified as Robert Jimenez from the Bronx, was rushed to the hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries. The entire neighborhood was left in shock and disbelief at the sudden loss of life. “Everybody was just shocked,” said witness Cesar Garcia.

The female driver remained at the scene of the accident and was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Crime scene investigators were present on Saturday night, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. The local residents watched in disbelief as the gravity of the situation unfolded before their eyes. Ismael Ramon, who witnessed the crash, described it as “very dramatic.”

Following the incident, the woman was taken into custody by the police. Authorities have now classified the case as a homicide investigation, suggesting that the incident may have been intentional rather than a mere accident.
