The unfortunate accident occurred when the bus was descending a hill. According to the police, the bus’s engine was left running while the driver stepped outside. Unexpectedly, the vehicle started moving downhill and eventually landed in a ditch, stated Geo News.

The authorities confirmed one fatality and multiple injured students. The children, who were from Sheikhupura, were immediately transported to hospitals in Islamabad. A total of 54 individuals, including 13 teachers and staff members, 22 boys, and 19 girls, were aboard the ill-fated bus, reported Geo News. The deceased teacher has been identified as 22-year-old Hania.

Rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and provided medical assistance to the injured. Thirteen students were admitted to the Poly Clinic Hospital, while eight were taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, according to Geo News.
