Kolkata: Tragic Collision Between Luxury Car and Motorcycle Near Fort William Claims One Life

Kolkata: A devastating incident unfolded on Sunday morning when a luxury car collided with a motorcycle near the South Gate of Fort William in the Maidan police station area. Tragically, one person lost their life, while two others sustained injuries. The victims, who were riding the motorcycle without helmets, were returning home after a morning workout near Red Road when the accident occurred, according to local authorities.
According to a senior police officer, “The motorcycle was heading towards Kidderpore when the speeding car collided with it. The impact was severe, causing all three individuals on the motorcycle to be thrown off, while the car swiftly fled the scene.” The identities of the victims are yet to be determined.
The car was later intercepted near Kyd Street, and the driver was apprehended by the authorities. To gain a clearer understanding of the accident, the CCTV footage from the area is currently under examination. An investigation into the incident is now underway, the officer added.
Another Tragic Accident on Rashbehari Connector Claims Life of Scooterette Rider
Adding to the string of unfortunate incidents, a devastating accident occurred on Thursday around 11 am on the Rashbehari Connector near Nabapally crossing, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old scooterette rider. Although the pillion rider, a woman, survived the crash, she suffered severe trauma after being thrown off the two-wheeler. The riders were on their way to Ruby crossing from the Kasba Bosepukur side when the incident took place.

The victim, identified as Vishal Chaudhury, resided in Ballygunge Place. The woman, aged 20, also hailed from the same area. Both individuals were students pursuing their Chartered Accountancy (CA) studies and were en route to attend classes.
Investigations conducted by the police, including the examination of CCTV footage and witness accounts, revealed that the victim was traveling at a high speed and failed to navigate a slight curve in the road. It is being investigated whether the two-wheeler swerved to avoid colliding with a vehicle approaching from Nabapally. Despite being rushed to Ruby Hospital within minutes, the victim was pronounced dead upon arrival.
