Columbus Police Seek Public’s Help in Solving 2020 Fatal Shooting Case

Columbus police and Central Ohio Crime Stoppers are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help solve a fatal shooting case that occurred in east Columbus last year.

On an unfortunate day, officers responded to a distressing incident at the 700 block of South Weyant Avenue, where multiple gunshots were heard and an individual was found lying in an alley. The victim has been identified as 57-year-old David Olson.

Upon their arrival, authorities discovered Olson in the alley, critically injured by a gunshot wound. Immediate medical attention was provided, and he was swiftly transported to Grant Medical Center in the hopes of saving his life. Tragically, Olson succumbed to his injuries shortly after reaching the hospital.

Investigating the incident, authorities have uncovered that two individuals were observed fleeing the area. However, at present, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with the shooting.
